Nigerian gospel singer Sinach led thousands in an evening of praise and worship at the Jubilee Reset Gospel Concert, which concluded last night at the Sir John Guise Stadium in the Nation’s Capital.

Best known internationally for her hit song “Way Maker,” Sinach delivered a powerful performance that drew the crowd into heartfelt singing, dancing, and worship. The concert has been described as one of Papua New Guinea’s most significant gospel music gatherings in history.

The three-day event brought together gospel singers, bands, choirs, and dancers, showcasing a diversity of talents united in faith. It also served as the opening highlight for the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

From children to elders, people from various Christian denominations filled the stadium, lifting their voices and hands in worship.

Among those present was Prime Minister James Marape, who joined his former high school singing group to perform the gospel song “Awesome God.” In his remarks, the Prime Minister reflected on the spiritual foundations of the nation, acknowledging the legacy of Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare, who in 2008 established National Repentance Day.

Observed annually on August 26, the day calls on Papua New Guineans to seek God’s mercy and forgiveness through prayer.

The Jubilee Reset Gospel Concert now sets the tone for the upcoming golden jubilee festivities as the nation counts down to its 50th Independence Anniversary.
