Parliament resumes tomorrow

Parliament resumes tomorrow , 29th July at 2pm with the traditional 45 minutes questionss without notice , bills and papers.
Deputy Clerk of Parliament, Basil Kambuliagen told NBC Online, they have yet to be advised by the Leader of Government Business Peter Tsiamalili Jr on the agendas for the session.
He says the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected MP for Central Bougainville Jimmy Miringtoro will also take place.
The Office of the Speaker also says they have yet to confirm the date on when the New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon will address the National Parliament, during his three-day state visit to PNG in August.
Meantime, Prime Minister James Marape in a recent statement said the government in this session will look at amending existing laws for heavier penalties for sorcery - related killings and torture.
Mr Marape says these changes will expand the scope of liabilities, which means perpetrators will not be the only ones to face justice, but also by-standers who watch and say nothing.
As for the Opposition, a number of issues are expected to be raised, including the MVIL saga, the KPHL allegations against Wapu Sonk and the duplication of roles between the MVIL and the Road Traffic Authority and others.
