Stop N Shop rolls out hauslain packs

Major supermarket Stop N shop- a major supermarket in the NCD has introduced its relief initiative to assist local households.
It is similar to the government's Goods and Services Tax Zero rating policy which was implemented over the weekend.
However, with the SNS initiative, it has prepackaged items consisting of certain essential household items captured in the government's 13 household goods, which can be purchased for K20, K50, and K100, respectively.
City Pharmacy Ltd.'s General Manager, Christopher Lam, explained that this initiative is named 'Haus lain Packs', aimed at giving back more to customers during these tough economic times.
"As everyone is aware, on the 1st of June, on Sunday, that's when all retailers rolled over the zero-rated GST policy, and SNS, being a major supermarket, has also, we have effected this and many of you have seen the changes. But we had to create the house-lain packs for every household. What's contained in the packs is essential items, says Mr. Lam.
They include items like rice, flour noodles, cooking oil, tinned fish, and others, depending on the three price categories.

Mr Lam remarked that this is also timely as people become wallet conscious.
"We've come up with these packages, so if you are down to your last K20, K50, or K100, you can get everything you need to provide a decent meal for just one price," says Mr Lam.
He added that contents of the packs which change from time to time depending on customers choice and feedback and will be available at all SNS outlets in Port Moresby.
Meantime, this initiative is expected to run until July this year.
