WHO regional director visits Milne Bay

The World Health Organization's Regional Director for Western Pacific Dr Saia Ma'u Piukala as part of his high level 8day mission to Papua New Guinea, has arrived in Alotau for a provincial field visit.

CEO of the Milne Bay Health Authority Dr Perista Mamadi was on hand to receive them, they have a whole hospital, Health center, schools for local health innovation and community health posts visit ready for the team today through to Friday.

The visit to PNG underscores WHOs commitment to supporting PNGs national health priorities, strengthening partnerships and advancing equitable access to health services.

He is accompanied by WHO Country Rep Dr Sevil Huseynova and Deputy Health Secretary Compliance and Standards Dr Dora Lenturut and the Australian High Commissions Counsellor Health Miriam Carter.
