Arore questions colonial-era executions at Higaturu

The alleged beheading and public hanging of about 20 Orokaiva men at Higaturu station, in Northern Province, during the colonial era was raised in Parliament today.
Member for Ijivitari David Arore says, upon Independence in 1975, there was no investigation by the Governments of PNG and Australia, questioning why:
Prime Minister James Marape in response, says there was no record of such but that Mr Arore should provide details in writing so the matter can be appropriately dealt with:
Records indicate, the 20, led by a man called Embogi were alleged to have murdered, or handed over Australian soldiers, American airmen, missionaries to the Japanese and even raided villages in their local area, raping women and burning houses.
