Opposition Leader questions the Prime Minister on the investigation into the Connect PNG Program

Opposition Leader Douglas Tomuriesa has asked Prime Minister James Marape in Parliament to confirm whether an investigation has been initiated into the Connect PNG program.
The question comes after media reports that Deloitte and an Australian engineering firm were engaged to carry out the investigation.
The Opposition Leader asked the Prime Minister to confirm if the investigation is true, and if so, whether the Connect PNG program will be suspended to allow the investigation to continue without delays or further spending of public funds.
He also said that, morally, it would be right for the government to suspend the program while the investigation takes place.
Prime Minister James Marape said Connect PNG is an important program that must not be compromised by corruption allegations.
He confirmed the government has engaged an international audit firm alongside an international engineering firm to investigate the program.
The prime minister emphasized that if any misconduct is found, it will be exposed, and no one will be allowed to get away.
