Cabinet to endorse Mulitaka resettlement authority board

Kandep MP Don Polye has questioned the government over the state of recovery efforts into the Mulitaka disaster in Enga Province.

Polye told parliament , it has been a year , since the tragic landslide , that claimed hundreds of lives.

He says the people of Mulitaka have expressed disappointment over the way in which the government is handling the situation, especially the delay in the appointment of a board and chairman to lead the resettlement authority.

Minister for Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs, Soroi Eoe, when responding, said his department is in the process of putting together a board to coordinate the overall recovery, which will be endorsed by Cabinet.
