One dead following hostage incident in remote Middle Fly

One person has died in the hostage taking on May 12 from Adumare village, in the Middle Fly District of Western Province.
North Fly MP James Donald told Parliament this afternoon [May 27] from those kidnapped, five were girls, one was a health worker and his wife, including a male teacher and his wife.
A frustrated Mr Donald urged colleague members from the border provinces of Hela and Southern Highlands, where this gang of kidnappers are allegedly from, to act responsibly in getting their constituent members in line.
Donald says the kidnappings are a recurring and serious concern which have seen rapes and demands for ransom from his people.
He asked the police minister, Peter Tsiamalili Jr, for an update on this kidnapping case:
Donald says, the school in Mougulu Secondary school in the district has been closed down, with everyone living in fear.
Police Minister Peter Tsiamalili Jr in response, says - a special unit is on the ground in the province, and he cannot disclose any further information.
