Thirty [30] graduate nurses engaged under the West New Britain Provincial Health Authority’s Nurse Graduate Program have been fully certified as nurses.

These nurses are pioneers of the PHA’s Graduate Nurse Program and were taken on board last year after they graduated from the West New Britain School of Nursing with probationary licenses to practice.

A ceremony was hosted today to present the nurses with their full nursing licenses as well as farewell them from the PHA Nurse Graduate Program.

PHA Chief Executive Officer, Stanis Law Tao was given the honours to present the nurses with their licenses.

PHA Deputy Director Nursing Services and Standards, Sister Scholastica Baiwan said, "The nurses are now fully registered and can practice as professional nurses."

She explained that the ceremony now marks their formal entry into the labor market as registered and licensed nurses.

Sister Baiwan highlighted that these nurses represent the pioneer batch taken in after the introduction of the Nurse Graduate Program and they have set a strong foundation for future nurse graduates from the province.
