The Simbu Provincial Government [SPG] has presented K200,000 to the Four Square Gospel Church to support the construction of a new Bible college in the province.

The cheque was presented on behalf of Governor Noah Kool by Aken Kaiwa, who said the funding was part of the government’s ongoing support for faith based institutions. He said that the Four Square Church is the third denomination to receive such funding, following similar support for the Lutheran and Seventh Day Adventist churches.

"SPG already funded Lutheran, Seventh Day Adventist and now Four Square Church," Mr Kaiwa said. "Next year and beyond, we will continue to fund other churches to establish their own Bible colleges."

He said the provincial government is working closely with the Simbu Body of Christ to expand its investment in church led initiatives, particularly those focused on community development and moral guidance.

Mr Kaiwa added that faith based organisations play a key role in shaping ethical behaviour and promoting development, complementing the efforts of government and NGOs.

Reverend Kaupa Irai, provincial supervisor of the Four Square Church, thanked the Simbu Provincial Government for the funding.

"More pastors will produce more churches, more congregations, more youths, and more change in the community, district, and province," he said.

He said there is no Bible College in Simbu, and this is welcome news for all the churches.
