President of the Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) Paul Komboi is steadfast about reigniting the vibrancy of the association.

Appointed a year ago due to his extensive expertise in the sport, Komboi spent his inaugural year in 2024 familiarizing with dynamics.

The former PNG Kapuls midfielder emphasized that this approach is crucial for ensuring the competition's progress.

His primary goal is to strengthen governance and administration within PMSA in order to enhance its structure and operational effectiveness.

One key priority is to improve the facilities, which have deteriorated over the years due to a lack of ongoing maintenance.

Komboi also added that he is committed to developing the skills of referees and club officials, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary expertise outlined by the PNG Football Association.

"Over the years, numerous issues have contributed to the decline of PMSA, and we are working diligently to resolve them," he stated.

President Komboi stressed that before addressing these issues, they need to function as a well-organized institution.

He also plans on implementing proper structures and establishing a team of volunteers to manage the association’s affairs transparently.

"This includes overseeing finances, maintaining records, and creating policies that will guide the administration forward," he remarked.

He reiterated the importance of having all the basic elements in place to run an association effectively, noting that such foundations were lacking in the past.
