Two women candidates have so far nominated to contest in the Madang Urban LLG election.

The two are Freda Pomat for Ward 2 and Regina Ropra for Ward 9.

Pomat and Ropra are former councilors who have served a term each.

Both were unseated in the 2019 LLG election, however; are vying again in the name of good governance and transparency.

Ropra, who is originally from Mt Hagen; tells NBC News after nominating; "my people have asked me to return because they have seen no tangible services in Ward 9 in the last 5- 6 years that I have been out of office".

Meanwhile, nomination for Madang Urban LLG is continuing into day 7 today.
