Tang Mow opens modern plaza in Wewak

Tang Mow Limited, a popular name at retailing in East Sepik, officially opened its Tang Mow Plaza today in Wewak.

The Tang Mow Plaza, designed to cater to modern shopping needs right in the heart of Wewak Business Centre, is the first of its kind in the province.

General Manager Duan Tiger Yan says Tang Mow Limited is not only here in Wewak to make money but to partner in development, with the trust and confidence in the province.

East Sepik Governor Allan Bird thanked Tang Mow Limited for their trust and confidence in the people of East Sepik and the local economy, adding that East Sepik is a growing economy where more investors are now interested in investing in the province.

"One way of measuring our economy is through people's spending. East Sepik has proven that our economy is growing, giving confidence in businesses to invest," said Governor Bird.

Meanwhile, Wewak MP Stanley Samban, when congratulating the management of Tang Mow Limited, challenged local businesses operating in East Sepik to invest in the province.

"This is a challenge to all businesses operating in Wewak and East Sepik, why make money here and invest in developing other towns and cities when we all can invest and develop our hometown," Mr Samban said.

The new modern plaza, featuring a hotel along with shopping and entertainment amenities, stands at four stories.

The hotel occupies the third floor, but while today marks the plaza's grand opening, the hotel’s opening is expected at a later date.
