“I will never resign from Pangu Party,” says Gulf Governor

Wearing a Pangu Party t-shirt, showing where his political heart sits, Gulf Governor Chris Haiveta fronted media at lunchtime after personally meeting Prime Minister James Marape in his Parliament Office.
" I will never resign from Pangu Party… I come out of the [Party] Parliamentary caucus," Mr Haiveta said, minutes after presenting a letter to Prime Minister Marape.
He said the letter advises the Parliamentary Leader of Pangu Party and Prime Minister that he will not be part of the parliamnetary party caucus as he seeks court interpretation on the Papua LNG Project Infrastructure Development Grants for his province diverted to Enga Provincial Government.
"I am fighting for my people… this is a position of my people of Gulf [Province] not politics," Mr Haiveta said.
"Nobody [members of parliament] has guts to take it to court… so in the future this thing won't happen."
The unhappy political head of Gulf, the host province of the Papua LNG wants K20 million, a share of the K60 million of infrastructure development grant for the LNG Project to be returned to his people.
He confirmed that to date, the monies have not been remitted to the Gulf Provincial Government bank account.
