Indonesia donates K5 million relief support to Mulitaka

Over K5-million worth of humanitarian assistance arrived this morning at Port Moresby Jackson’s Airport from Indonesia.

The donation is from the Indonesian Government to the PNG Government meant for the Mulitaka landslide affected communities in Enga Province.

The supplies contain food, mineral water, water purifier, medicines, tents and other essentials as relief for the affected communities.

Defense Minister Dr Billy Joseph and Foreign Affairs Minister Justin Tkatchenko were on hand to receive the supplies this morning.

He said the relief supplies will undoubtedly bring comfort and relief to the people affected by the landslip disasters and put smiles on their faces.

“Will greatly help the people and reminding them that they are not alone in the struggle to make their life better again.

“We are grateful that this donation will make a difference to over 10,000 people of Mulitaka and please do extend our appreciation to the government of Indonesia,” Minister Joseph said.

The supplies were handed over by Head of National Disaster Management of Indonesia, Lieutenant General Suharyanto Sos and Indonesian Ambassador to PNG, Andriana Supandy.
