PM’s golf challenge raises over K75,000 for Team PNG

The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) has raised an amount of K75,500 for Team PNG during its recent Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge in Lae.

The Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge is an annual fundraiser, hosted by the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee for Team PNG preparations for major international games.

The Golf Challenge began in 1998 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club and later spread to Lae in 2005. This year is the 26th year for PNGOC to host the prestigious event in Port Moresby and Lae.

Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources, Jelta Wong teed off as the representative from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Wong said the National Government of Papua New Guinea is a proud supporter of nation-building through sports and the Prime Minister’s Office looks forward to continuing supporting Team PNG in the coming years.

Lane Lawyers came out victors in the Lae edition of the 2024 PM’s Corporate Golf Challenge (PNGOC)

PNGOC, Corporate Manager, Denzil Agi expressed his gratitude to all who supported in making the event a success.

“As we close off a successful day at the PM’s Golf, I would like to extend my gratitude towards the following. Firstly, our good Prime Minister, Honorable James Marape. I would like to commend you on your continuous support towards the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee and Team PNG. Your support for this important annual event is highly appreciated,” he said.

“I also wish to acknowledge our partners for the PM’s Golf, the major event sponsor, The National, Ela Motors, Air Niugini, SP Brewery, Media Partners, Coral Sea Hotels, Trophy Haus, Trukai Industries Limited, Theodist, Blue 7 Team, Vodafone. Mr. Agi concluded by stating, “This event would not have been successful without your support. Thank you and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the coming years.”

The 2024 PM’s Golf Corporate Challenge was won by Lane Lawyers in Lae with 4 Mile Coffee as the runners-up and Kumul Minerals Holding Limited [Team 3] taking out the third spot.
