Provincial Administrator Sandis Tsaka is working closely with local and international disaster relief partners and has announced plans to build two shelters for the victims.

The temporary shelters will be set up in Porgera and Wabag, near existing health centers, to provide essential support to those affected.

As the search for bodies continues, former LLG president Jiman Yandam says they will carry on digging daily in the hope of recovering and giving proper burials to the victims.

Cracks have also been observed along the National Highway and there are concerns that more landslides may occur in the area.

Our journalist in Enga, Emmanuel Eralia confirms that the death toll currently stands at 162 and not larger figures as widely reported on various media platforms.
