Crowd control at the largest bus stop in the nation’s capital

Royal PNG Constabulary personnel since this morning are manning Gordon Suburb bus stop restricting informal marketing within its vicinity.
The largest bus stop is a minute’s drive to the National Parliament, and crowd control is a safety measure enforced by police before parliament reconvenes at 2 pm today.
And with the alternate government expected to file a motion of no-confidence vote against Prime Minister James Marape, personnel from Police and PNG Defence Force will be out in full force.
National Capital District and Central Commander Peter Guinness confirmed that 520 joint security personnel will maintain public safety when parliament sits.
He further issued a warning to city residents, “Do not come out and do not think that you can come and do what you did on January 10. We will apply the full force of the law to everybody, any group, any person who thinks they can rob a store or burn a shop or do whatever you think you can do.”
Furthermore, roads leading into and around the national parliament will be restricted to the general public.
