Minister for Higher Education Research Science and Technology and Sports, Don Polye has urged the Pangu MPs in both the Loloata and Sanctuary Camps to respect the party they represent.

Mr Polye made his position clear in a press conference today at the Grand Papua Hotel that he's not resigned from government nor the ministerial portfolio he occupies.

"I am a Pangu Member, I am a senior politician and I'm here to provide leadership and guidance," Polye said.

Mr Polye said he wrote to Pangu Pati executives on 24 May prior to the defection.

"To date we are waiting for them to call for an immediate meeting to address the issue to ensure both parties must follow the constitution of the party," Polye said.

He further clarified that he's position in providing leadership at this crucial time is important.

Polye pointed out that every member in both camps must now see the real challenge people are facing and not be self-centered.
