PNG University of Technology marks record graduation today

PNG University of Technology Chancellor, Sam Koim has encouraged Unitech graduates to be disciplined and committed and always become consummate and ethical professionals in whatever job they do.

Today marked the 56th graduation of this prestigious university in PNG's second capital city, Lae, Morobe Province.

A total 734 students graduated, of these, 680 are undergraduates, 53 with master's and 2 graduated with Doctor of Philosophy or PhD- this by far would have to be the highest number of students graduating from Unitech from various disciplines.

Mr Koim who was recently appointed as Chancellor in his remarks congratulated the students for achieving another milestone while also commending parents for their commitment in allowing their children to successfully complete their studies.

The ceremony today was officiated by Prime Minister, James Marape, Council Members of the University, representatives of the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) and sponsors including parents.

Chancellor Koim stressed that in today's world attitude is everything.

“Where you start is critical and very important, just be a consummate and ethical professional and you will never go wrong,” Mr Koim said.
