Hytarc TVET College issues new laptops to students

As part of its esteemed move to introducing online learning, the Hytarc Tvet College today handed new laptops to students in the Port Moresby campus.
The first batch comprised of 30 students, who paid an upfront payment of 60 per cent received the laptops, enabling them to access the newly introduced online learning platforms.
College director Michael Rogo when issuing the accessories to the Port Moresby-based students, said similar approach will be taken to other centers around the country.
“On behalf of all Hytarc TVET College centers in PNG, Boroko training branch will do the honor of officially launching the college 1-Laptop-Per-Student Policy,” Rogo said.
“Other training centers will follow soon starting 19th February onwards.”
The students based in Banz (Jiwaka), Kiunga and Daru (Western) as well as Wewak (East Sepik) will also receive the new laptops upon paying the required percentage of the total fees.
Rogo said the college was determined to providing affordable and quality learning facilities through the use of online modules.
Operating for over 20 years in traditional classroom settings, the institution is now boarding new models of learning integrated to the evolving technological space.
“We thank all the students, parents and sponsors for having faith in us as we progress into this new education landscape in Online Training and the evolution of A.I and how best we can help train and empower our youths, working class, people with disabilities, stay-home-mothers and fathers etc,” Rogo added.
The second batch of students who paid or deposited fees between February 7 – 13 will receive their laptops next week Wednesday.
“You made deposits under the 60% upfront required per your Acceptance Letter. You are required to deposit further to reach the 60% before we issue your laptop,” Rogo concluded.
