London Broncos five-eighth and 2026 Betfred Championship Player of the Year Gairo Voro is ready for the Rugby League World Cup.

Voro arrived in the country yesterday with fellow London Broncos team mates, Finley Glare, Robert Mathias, Morea Morea, Epel Kapinias and Alex Max.

Making two appearances for the Kumuls last year in the Pacific Championships at five eighth, the Viriolo youngster is part of the 23-men squad announced earlier this week and looks forward to don the red black and gold again.

“I feel happy and I am ready to give my best again at this level,” Voro said in Tok Pisin.

“Most of the boys in the Kumuls squad have played together in the past so I am confident in our combinations.”

“Running out at the NFS is very special.”

“When we run out and see the crowd cheering, it makes you want to give your best for your family, village and country. I can’t wait to run out again.”

Voro recalls his one year stint in London as memorable, learning a lot from senior players in the group.

“I have learnt a lot in London. Playing with players like Reagan Campbell Gillard and Savili Havili helped me a lot, because I learnt from them,” he said.

“Coach Jason Demetriou and the PNG boys in London also helped me a lot. We stayed together in London and we were like a family.”

“For next year, I am still unsure and I am still waiting, but for now my focus in on the World Cup.”
