Prime Minister James Marape has appointed two new vice ministters to the Marape – Rosso Cabinet , a move to develop young leadership for the country.

They are Usino Bundi MP Vincent Kumura as vice minister assisting the Office of the Prime Minister and Pogera Paiela MP Gidron Karipe as Vice Minister Petroleum.

Both were sworn in by Governor General Sir Bob Dadae at the government house, witnessed by several senior state ministers.

Speaking to the media, Marape says the appointments are part of his independence message to the nation about nurturing the next generation of leaders.

‘"I thank all other senior ministers and members of Parliament who showed up to pay respect to the bleeding and breeding of the next generation of leadership. Symbolic indication: the first day after the 16th of September, we just had to sign it out," the prime minister said.2

Consistent with my division of our country into three population groupings, those of us above 50, part of our job also is to breed those who are in between 26 to 50, to be at work correctly for our country."

Both Kumura and Karipe thanked Prime Minister James Marape for his confidence, saying they would work to fulfil their responsibilities until the 2027 national elections.
