CS take lead of colourful independence celebrations in Alotau
Marchers and participants in colourful red, black and gold have gathered for the 51st Independence Anniversary celebrations at Alice Wedega Park in Alotau, Milne Bay Province, ready to get the day's celebrations underway.
They've arrived at the park, the celebrations venue, with various schools , government and private organisations in full PNG colours assembling in preparation for the day's official program.
The Correctional Institute Services and the provincial security personnel have taken position in a ceremonial guard of honor at the front of the Habona Gaige Stadium at Alice Wedega Park as Member for Alotau, Ricky Morris walks through conducting an inspection of the parade.
Milne Bays premier secondary school, Cameron Secondary School, is among other vocational and primary schools in the urban cluster participating in this year's independence celebrations.
Alotau Member Ricky Morris will be the keynote speaker for this year's celebrations.
The celebration will continue until this afternoon with vehicle floats and other independence fun games.
