Ok Tedi maintains operation despite dry weather

Ok Tedi Mining Limited [OTML] says operations at its Western Province mine site are continuing safely despite ongoing dry weather lowering water levels along the Fly River.

In a statement, OTML confirmed it is closely monitoring weather impacts on its primary supply route. While low river levels have temporarily halted normal freight transport along parts of the Fly, the company has activated contingency measures to maintain essential supplies.

Alternative logistics routes are currently being utilized to deliver fuel, heavy equipment, consumables, and critical operational materials directly to the mine site.

OTML Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kedi Ilimbit assured stakeholders that business continuity plans are effectively keeping operations on track.

"As part of our business continuity planning, Ok Tedi has been actively managing the impacts of the dry conditions through alternative supply routes and careful management of key resources," Ilimbit said.

He said alternative supply routes have introduced logistical challenges and driven up operational costs, but core mining and processing activities remain fully operational.
