Ministerial absence during debates a concern

The absence of government ministers during grievance debate in Parliament where critical national issues are raised, was spotlighted in the recent sitting of the House.

In a point of order to Acting Speaker Koni Iguan, Goroka MP Aiye Tambua called out the absence of ministers, during grievance debate especially on Fridays.

He described it as “sad” adding that grievance debates are an important time for ministers to sit and take note of concerns raised under their ministerial portfolios:
