New instruments mark major step for Queen of Paradise Orchestra
The Queen of Paradise Orchestra in Vanimo has reached an important milestone following the arrival of new wind instruments last Friday.
Music Director Jesus Briceno said the new instruments will help the orchestra grow into a fully symphonic orchestra, making it the first of its kind in West Sepik Province and potentially Papua New Guinea.
The combination of these instruments allows musicians to perform a wider range of classical and contemporary music, producing a richer and more powerful sound.
Mr. Briceno described the arrival of the instruments as a significant achievement for the orchestra and its students.
Two new instructors will also join the program to teach interested students and help develop their musical skills.
The addition of the new instruments and teachers is expected to create more opportunities for young people in Vanimo to learn music and become part of the orchestra's growing success.
The Queen of Paradise Orchestra has continued to nurture young musicians in the province and hopes to inspire more students to take up music in the years ahead.
