BSP brings first deposit ATM to Highlands
Banking services in the Highlands have been enhanced with Bank South Pacific rolling out its first deposit Automated Teller Machine [ATM] in the region.
Customers in Minj, located in Anglimp South Waghi District of Jiwaka Province, are now the first in the Highlands to deposit cash through an ATM.
The new service follows the recent upgrade of the Minj branch, which has been serving the community for more than 15 years.
In a statement, BSP said the improved facility now provides full banking services, including deposits, withdrawals, ATM services, lending, self-service digital banking registration, and new account opening.
BSP Group Retail General Manager Rosneth Dayal said the upgrade shows the bank’s strong commitment to modern banking and financial inclusion.
“We are committed to making banking services more accessible to our rural communities. This upgrade will help farmers, small business owners and families manage their money safely and conveniently,” Dayal said.
Highlands Regional Area Manager John Tomba Jnr said Minj plays a key role in serving people across Jiwaka.
“With these services available in Minj, customers will no longer need to travel to Mt Hagen for their banking needs,” Tomba Jnr said.
The Minj branch serves more than 200,000 people and continues to promote financial inclusion, secure cash handling, and economic growth in the province.
This development marks an important step in bringing modern banking services closer to rural communities in the Highlands.
