CEFI reaffirms service values
The Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion [CEFI] has reaffirmed its commitment to integrity, discipline and people-centered service during its annual Staff Dedication Service held on Tuesday, at the CEFI Office in Port Moresby.
The service brought together CEFI staff and invited guests, including Bank of Papua New Guinea Intelligence Manager Edric Ogomeni and Pastor Peter Bogembo, who led the dedication under the theme “Serving with the Right Intention.”
The focus was on faithfulness, integrity and consistency in both personal and professional life, guided by the scripture Luke 16:10, which highlights the importance of being faithful in small matters.
In his address, CEFI Acting Director Peter Samuel thanked Pastor Bogembo for leading the service and described the occasion as a reflection of CEFI’s values and national role.
He said the organization’s work in financial inclusion and literacy aligns closely with principles of discipline, stewardship and responsible behavior.
“One of our key roles is about discipline,” Samuel said.
Samuel noted that teaching communities to save small amounts over time can lead to long-term financial security and the achievement of personal goals.
He added that these values apply not only to financial habits, but also to work, family life and national development.
Samuel also highlighted that the Staff Dedication Service has become an annual tradition, reinforcing the importance of grounding CEFI’s work in strong moral foundations.
He emphasized that small, consistent efforts can build towards sustainable livelihoods when guided by purpose and values.
In his sermon, Pastor Bogembo urged staff to uphold integrity and principled leadership, saying their work has the potential to “change the trajectory of this nation.”
He encouraged staff to remain faithful in their responsibilities and lead with wisdom, honesty and understanding as they serve the people of Papua New Guinea.
