"We will rebuild and emerge stronger," a heartbroken Mendi Munihu MP Raphael Tonpi said when delivering his Christmas message, giving hope to the local business owners in Mendi Town who lost their businesses in the recent fire in Mendi Town.

He said the spirit of Christmas is all about hope and renewal. "Our hearts are with those who lost their businesses and cherished possessions in the recent fires. We know the pain is deep, and the road to recovery may seem long. Yet even in the ashes, the spirit of Christmas reminds us that hope shines brightest in the darkest moments", he stated.

Mr Tonpi, who is also the Vice Minister for State Owned Enterprises, encouraged the people to stand together even in the shadows of the hardship they face.

He stressed that they must hold onto the hope in Christ our Lord and celebrate this season with peace, warmth of friendship, and a blessed assurance that brighter days are ahead.

He reiterated, "We have faith in the resilience of our people. We will rebuild and emerge stronger".

The Vice Minister extended heartfelt Christmas and New Year greetings to the people in the Mendi Munihu Electorate. He was physically on the ground the following day after the huge fire gutted the commercial buildings.
