Tomuriesa backs Nomane as new Opposition Leader
Kiriwina-Goodenough MP Douglas Tomuriesa has contended against the takeover of the Opposition Government leadership by Chuave MP James Nomane. He says he will not challenge this decision and has wished Nomane well.
Speaking on local radio, NBC Milne Bay this morning, Tomuriesa says it hasn't always been easy trying to lead a group already fragmented within.
He says that in the two years at the helm, it was a mix of leadership, mediation, and more, describing it as "amazing" that they had stuck together through it all.
He wished Nomane the best as leader of the Opposition and thanked his Kiriwina-Goodenough and Milne Bay people for their support during his two year tenure as leader.
Tomuriesa says will be taking it easy before any big decisions, spending time with his people and focusing on their projects into the new year.
