Urban LLG members sworn in
Out of the 11 local level government in northern, Urban LLG is the first to swear in its 11 ward councilors together with the Popondetta town mayor.
Among the 11 ward councilors two are female, the swearing in ceremony for the urban LLG ward councilors and Popondetta town mayor was conducted at Higaturu councilor’s chambers today.
The swearing in ceremony was led by assemblies of God Church youths and pastors with sing along and dedication prayer followed by the official swearing.
Emmanuel Yawiisa from the public solicitor’s office formally conducted the swearing ceremony for the 11 urban llg ward councilors and Popondetta town mayor.
Speaking during the swearing ceremony, Mr Yawisa urged the members of the urban LLG to fear God in everything they do and serve the people to the best of their ability. He also went on saying that taking an oath before the public and God is a promise.
Popondetta district administrator and chief executive officer to the district development authority, Paul Kamani, said he stands committed to working closely with the 11 ward councilors of urban LLG and Popondetta town mayor to deliver the much needed services to the people.
Kamani further urged the urban LLG members to develop their ward development plans, which will become the road map to facilitate services going forward.
