Grade 8 Exams to start on Monday, but some dates may shift

The Department of Education has confirmed that the 2025 Grade 8 National Examinations are set to start on Monday, 20th October, but some schools may need to adjust exam dates slightly if papers are delayed
Education Secretary Dr. Uke Kombra said the minor adjustments to the exam timetable are due to delays in the delivery of exam papers to some provinces, but all exams are expected to be completed by Friday, 24th October
Dr Kombra explained that while all exam materials have been dispatched through Air Niugini Cargo, some deliveries may be delayed because of flight disruptions and rescheduling.

Provincial Education Authorities have been advised to reschedule exams where needed.
“Any further changes beyond this date must be approved by my office,” Dr Kombra said.
He also reminded school administrations to ensure the safe storage and fair administration of all the examination materials and urged Provincial Education Advisors and Inspectors to keep the schools informed.
The Department has thanked all provinces, schools, and teachers for their cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2025 Grade 8 National Examinations.
