The Sir Joseph Nombri Memorial Kundiawa General Hospital has significantly upgraded its patient monitoring capacity with the presentation of a new Capnography machine to the Anesthetic Department.

The machine helps doctors closely monitor patients in real time during surgery, showing important information about their breathing and oxygen levels.

An anesthetist from Angau memorial Hospital, Dr Dan Asi will this week conduct training for the local team on how to use the machine.

Acting Director of Curative Health Services, Dr Joseph Ande, said, " I want to thank the donor. This gift has highlighted the hospital's commitment to enhancing patient safety through advanced equipment and continuous professional education".

"The new Capnography unit is a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Simbu Province, and I am confident that it will greatly benefit patients undergoing surgery," Dr. Ande said.

This vital equipment was donated by Chief Anesthetist Dr Nora Dai, following her attendance at a recent medical symposium and anesthetic specialty meeting.
