PPC Baim clears the air on horrific viral video footage

Madang PPC, Acting Superintendent Robert Baim, has cleared the air on a video footage of a brutal killing in the Raikos District that has gone viral this week.
PPC Baim clarified that the incident occurred towards the end of August at Yawar in the Astolable Bay Local Level Government area of the Raikos District.
He said CID officers have attended to the matter, and the perpetrators have been apprehended and are behind bars.
"They have appeared in court and are currently in custody. I appeal to those circulating the footage to stop and respect the court process, the deceased person, and his relatives. Stop misleading the people with outdated information/ stories that police are already taking carriage of," PPC Baim said.
He further stated that such misleading information will also tarnish the good work already established through the law and justice sector and the community as a whole to take back Madang.
"Let us all work together and look forward to a bright next 50 years for Madang and PNG. Let's not spoil but rather promote unity and discourage such from happening. Together, we will change Madang," said PPC Baim.
Those responsible for the attack are from the Walium area of the Usino/ Bundi District.
Local police confirmed a reconciliation ceremony has been planned for tomorrow (Sunday) between the family and relatives of the deceased, and the families and relatives of the perpetrators from Walium.
