EC disclaims liability for unauthorized vehicle and property use
The PNG Electoral Commission [PNGEC] will not be liable for any vehicle, property, or asset used for electoral activities without its consent.
In a statement, the Electoral Commission clarifies that it will categorize any deal made without prior written approval as informal. Approval must come from the Electoral Commissioner or a duly authorized officer, such as a Deputy Commissioner or Director.
Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai states that any individuals or organizations who choose to deploy vehicles or other services for electoral purposes without formal authorization do so at their own risk and expense.
"Commission will not assume responsibility for any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from the unauthorized use of such assets." Commissioner Sinai said.
The Electoral Commission issued this clarification to ensure transparency, accountability, and proper adherence to approved procedures during electoral activities. This measure also avoids unnecessary liabilities against the state.
