GGGI climate financing workshop

Global Green Growth Institute is bringing to its priority provinces skills on accessing climate Finance and developing bankable proposals.
It's in association with its flagship project Climate FIRST being rolled out in Milne Bay, New Ireland and Enga Provinces.
It's with the aim to strengthen the capacity of Provincial Administrations to develop bankable Climate Finance Projects that are financially sound and that donor agencies and other private institutions as banks and private investors, can positively support.

It targets persons involved in Provincial level decision making and planning for project implementation.
Viula encouraged participants to actively participate in the 3-day workshop that ends Thursday, to tap into Milne Bay's project ideas into concept notes and eventually proposals for donor funded initiatives to serve Milne Bay.
The knowledge passed on here is of standard climate funded proposals that development partners look at, what components to build into such a proposal to ensure they are financially viable and attractive to donor agencies and financiers, to give them a template to track these project ideas and allow better management and mainstreaming GEDSI integration as is an important to any project proposal these days and global financing architecture.
GGGIs flagship project the Climate Finance Initiative for Resilience and Sustainable Transition/ Climate FIRST is behind this move, the workshop will also be held in New Ireland next week and up in Enga in November.
Four other provinces also part of Climate FIRST will follow suit soon including Simbu, Eastern Highlands, Manus and Morobe.
