Madang government buys vehicles for school and fisheries sector

Transgogol Secondary School in Madang District and the Fisheries sector of the Bogia District Administration received a vehicle each today, courtesy of the Madang Provincial Government.
The vehicles were presented today by the Ela Motors Dealership Manager in Madang, Manase Kauleni to the Principal of Transgogol Secondary School, Nivirity Ivan and the Assistant Director for Fisheries and Marine Resources Division, Greg Serar in the presence of Governor Ramsey Pariwa.
Kauleni thanked the Madang Provincial Government for choosing Ela Motors to do business with them.
He said the school truck was purchased at a cost of K152, 000 whilst the Fisheries Toyota Landcruiser open back had cost approximately K200, 000.
Governor Pariwa said the school truck was purchased following a request letter from the school administration and board to meet the school's needs in transporting materials as well as teachers and students, a challenge the school has been facing over the years.
The school is situated in a volatile area of Madang District that has been facing a lot of law and order issues, especially the infamous cuttings, and the truck will greatly assist in transporting students home after school and teachers in moving school supplies.
One of the longest serving officers of the Fisheries sector, Marabia Igob described the assistance by the Madang Government to the district as a 'first of its kind'.
He said, " Since I joined the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries more than 30 years ago, until it was restructured, I have never seen such assistance. This is the first time under the leadership of Governor Pariwa."
He added Governor Pariwa is truly a unique leader who has the heart to assist the economic sector flourish in the province.
