Madang Provincial Hospital receives much-needed food rations from MPEC

The Madang Provincial Hospital received a significant amount of food rations yesterday from the Madang Provincial Events Committee to help feed its in-house patients.
The donated items were surplus from goods provided by business houses in the province for Madang's 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
They were initially meant to feed participating singsing groups, however; the turn up was lower than expected, thus the decision to give the surplus back to the community.
In this case, the Provincial Events Committee agreed to give to the provincial hospital; a gesture well appreciated by the hospital management.
Chairman of the Madang Provincial Events Committee, Siegfried Beschel said, "The committee has decided that there is no better place to donate than to give back to our partners in the recent event. We also understand the need the hospital has to feed and look after the sick here at the hospital."
Acting Hospital Administration Services Manager, Moses Lolale accepted the donated items on behalf of the executive management of the provincial hospital and the Madang Provincial Health Authority.
Mr Lolale said,"These donated food items will boost the hospital kitchen's supply and will last up to a month at the most. It is actually of great help to us.

The donation was witnessed also by the Town Mayor for Madang, Peter Yalsi Masi, and members of the hospital's senior executive management.
Mr Yasi expressed gratitude at the MPECs thoughtful decision.
The food items were donations by Goodman Fielders, RD Tuna, Globe, Paradise Foods, and Prima small goods.
