Bulolo DDA delivers K400,000 medical boost to health services
The Bulolo District Development Authority has delivered K400,000 worth of critical medical supplies to four health facilities across the district, reinforcing its commitment to healthcare as a top priority.
The medical assistance was officially handed over during Independence Week celebrations last Friday by Bulolo DDA chief executive officer Joe Paru, on behalf of the Member for Bulolo, Sam Basil Jnr. Bulolo District Hospital, Watut Sub Health Centre, Mumeng Health Centre, and Buang Health Centre each received K100,000 worth of supplies.
“The country is in an economic crisis, but Bulolo DDA will continue to prioritise the health of our people,” Paru said.
This was the third major health donation by the DDA as part of its ongoing efforts to improve health services in the district.
The presentation at Bulolo hospital was attended by district health manager Logan Yakam, youth representative Yemon Bisa, health extension officer Gershom Guambelek and his staff, along with patients and community members.
Paru said Bulolo Hospital not only serves the district but also supports neighbouring areas including Wau-Waria, Menyamya, and parts of Gulf province such as Kaintiba.
Yakam commended the DDA for its sustained support: “Health is everyone’s right. We thank the Member, the CEO, and the DDA Board for putting our people first.”
The handover was followed by ward visits where patients received food and refreshments as part of the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations. In addition, Bulolo DDA donated K2,000 to each health facility to support local festivities.
