Sonk given till 4:06 today

The suspended Managing Director of KPHL, Wapu Sonk, has been given till 4:06 this afternoon to pick up his suspension letter from the KPHL Board, or police will be forced to act.
Police Commissoner David Manning made these announcement at the Police Headquarters today.
Manning said the police are aware of the destruction of the National Highway in the Nipa area of Southern Highlands province, and a team of Mobile Squad members has already been deployed with support from members of the Defense Force.
The Commissioner of Police clarified that the suspension of Mr Sonk was not a Police matter until the incident in Nipa came to the attention of the Police with death threats made against members of the KPHL Board.
He said Mr Sonk is a respected man in his own community, and he should be the one to calm his people down while allowing the administrative process to take its course over his suspension.
Manning warned the public that no one is above the law and destroying government assets is a serious crime in nature.
He also said there is a contingency plan in place that may involve the Kumul 23 and the Counter Terrorism Act if the situation escalates.
Manning further added that the digital lock code for the KPHL office in Port Moresby has also been changed, indicating insubordinate behavior by Mr Sonk and perverting the course of justice.
