NBC officially launches Radio Online Services

The National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has entered into a new era of broadcasting with the official launch of its NBC Radio Online service.
The event, themed "for the DIGITAL AGE," took place this morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the NBC Broadcast Haus, 5 Mile.
Acting ICT Minister Peter Tsiamalili Jr said NBC steps into the future with its NBC Online Radio Services, a platform designed for the digital age where listeners can enjoy the programming anytime, anywhere, on any device connected to the internet.

He said the launch follows closely the heels of the official commissioning of the NBC Digital Television on the 6th of December 2024 by Minister for ICT, Honorable Timothy Masiu, on this same location.
Mr Tsiamalili said Internet Radio is very important the way people consume media is changing rapidly people demand convenience, variety, and instant access to news and information.
“NBC Internet Radio answers that call by offering a seamless streaming experience featuring live shows, exclusive content, music channels, and news updates, all created with the quality and the integrity that NBC is known for,” Acting ICT Minister said.
The acting ICT Minister said NBC Online Radio is built with simplicity.
“Just open your web browser on any device, whether it's a smartphone, a tablet, laptop, or desktop, and start streaming immediately. No app installation, no storage space concerns, just pure, uninterrupted audio entertainment.

“From live news and talk shows to music channels, all available right from your favorite browser.
“This approach reflects NBC's commitment to accessibility and innovation. We are removing friction so you can connect with the content you love, wherever you are, whenever you want.” He added.
He also added that today's launch represents more than just a new platform.
“It signifies our commitment to evolving with the times while honoring our heritage. We are empowering our listeners with greater choice and flexibility and opening new doors for creativity and engagement.”
He said going forward there will be more tools developed for more listener interaction and engagement.
“We will not stop here. We will endeavor to make NBC Radio interactive and engaging for our listeners.
“We will further introduce tools that will enable our listeners to engage live with our presenters while they are on air.”
Meanwhile, the NBC Board, Stakeholders, and Senior Management team were also present to witness this momentous occasion and looking forward to drive this great initiative going forward.
