Newly opened K600m Court complex to have 15 modern Court rooms, 31 judge’s chambers

The official opening of the new Waigani National Court complex took place today, witnessed by former Chief Justices, members of parliament and the general public.
The newly constructed National Court complex has 15 modern Court rooms, 31 judge's chambers with a digitalized media and ICT room in addition to spacious modern office to accommodate the entire staff of the National Judicial Staff Services.
The building was constructed at the cost of over K600 million by China Railway Engineers.
The Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika says, he is personally proud of this achievement as the building is fully funded by the people of Papua New Guinea.
He said unlike other projects that were partly funded by international partners, this building was constructed funding allocated by the PNG government.
He acknowledged the former Prime Minister Peter ONiel and the government back then for approving the construction of the court complex.
