SILAG commences Bully Beef Seminar

The Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance has kick-started its Bully Beef Seminar, fostering conversations of the country's journey since Independence and the contributions of the Premier Public Service Training Institution towards nation's building.
As the home of the infamous "Bully Beef club", a place where initial discussions towards the country's independence were held by country's founding fathers including Grand Chief Sir Michael Thomas Somare, SILAG formerly known as the Administrative College is more than a public training institution.
It is the birth place of Papua New Guinea.
The Bully Beef Club, comprised of young like-minded leaders who in their journey to become public servants, have taken a greater challenge to unite people of thousands of tribes, diverse languages and cultures into one nation, called Papua New Guinea.
The Bully Beef Seminar themed "Celebrating Our Past Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow" is more than reflecting on PNG's journey, is about informing and influencing the next generation of leaders to take the country into 50-years of existence.
The Seminar features country's influential speakers included father of PNG's Constitution, Dr. John Momis; daughter of Sir Michael Somare, Dulciana Somare Brash, and Senior Statesman Web Kanawi among others.
The two- day Seminar was officially opened by Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Kinoka Feo this morning.
