Kutubu Youth Data Collection training underway

The Kutubu Local Level Youth Development Council, in the Nipa Kutubu District of Southern Highlands Province, has launched a specialized training initiative focused on data collection for youths within the Kutubu local level government [LLG] area.
The training started on Tuesday [yesterday] and will conclude tomorrow [Thursday].
Kutubu Local Level Youth Development Council Chairman David William says one of its goals is to build a comprehensive youth database that will feed into broader Community Development Programs.
“These efforts are being made possible through the support of the Nipa-Kutubu District Development Authority [DDA], Santos Foundation, National Youth Development Authority (NYDA), and The Voice Inc.
“Once the Kutubu [LLG] phase is completed, the program will be extended to four additional LLGs, Mt. Bosavi, Pleto, Poroma, and Nipa Basin.
He explained that the aim is to ensure that school leavers and persons with disabilities, who have often been overlooked by mainstream services, are included and supported through these initiatives.
Mr. William emphasized that the program has drawn participants from all 18 council wards within the Kutubu LLG, with two representatives selected from each ward, totaling 36 participants.
He stated that these participants will be equipped with the skills needed to gather and manage youth data effectively, laying the groundwork for inclusive development planning.
