Bank South Pacific has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art branch in Arawa, marking the first major upgrade since the bank set up in Central Bougainville in 2012.

BSP Chairman Robert Bradshaw and Group Chief Executive Officer, Mark Robinson led the recent ceremony last week, saying the development will deliver modern, improved banking services to the growing customer base.

The new branch will be built just 50 meters [50m] from the current location, on land provided by local businessman Charlie Birena of Gold Dust Limited.

Ward Member for Arawa Urban Community Government and Inter-Government Relations, Lawrence Matau, says the project is a welcome boost for Arawa Town and the wider Central Bougainville region.
