NCD PHA in full support of vaccination campaign

As the polio vaccination campaign is launched throughout the country, the National Capital District Provincial Health Authority [NCD PHA] is in full support to roll out its campaign in the Nation’s Capital.
The Chief Executive Officer Dr. Robin Oge and his management have officially Launched the campaign at New Erima Primary School in Port Moresby this week.
Minister for Health Elias Kapavore while officiating the launch highlighted the importance of this campaign, considering the future of all children in Papua New Guinea.
“We want to ensure that all children are protected from preventable diseases like Polio,” said Minister Kapavore.
He said that approximately 4 million children under 10 years of age will be vaccinated nationwide.
Mr. Kapavore said, “It is the responsibility of all health workers and parents to work hand in hand to ensure all children under 10 years are fully vaccinated and protected from polio.”
The NCD PHA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Robin Oge has acknowledged the Health Minister Kapavore for his leadership in delivering health services in Papua New Guinea.
“On behalf of the 22 PHAs in Papua New Guinea, I am privileged to announce that all frontline workers of NCD PHA will commence the Polio Vaccination Campaign on the 18th of August in NCD,” said Dr. Oge.
He appealed to the students, partners/guardians, teachers and the general public to extend this vital information in order to help secure every child under 10 through polio vaccination.
Dr. Oge said that Polio Elimination in PNG is possible through collaborative effort from all the Chief Executive Officers of the 22 PHA in PNG.
He further acknowledges the partners as well as the Australian and New Zealand Government for their support to make PNG a polio free nation.
