Vincent Kumura leads Usino-Bundi by-election as primary count progresses

Independent candidate Vincent Kumura has taken an early lead in the Usino-Bundi Open by-election, securing 6,250 votes after the second day of primary vote counting today [Thursday].
Trailing behind him is Our Party candidate Nick Nicholas Kamuti with 4,797 votes in second place. Independent candidate Allan Aipu sits in third with 2,354 votes, while United Resources Party’s Philip Ororoku follows in fourth with 1,978 votes. Michael Kumba Ngond rounds out the top five with 1,668 votes.
Counting is being conducted simultaneously across each Local Level Government [LLG] area.
The Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission anticipates declaring a winner by the end of this week.
