Preparations underway for month-long PNG Story event

The much-anticipated PNG Story event has commenced at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium in Port Moresby.

The day-long celebration kicked off with a vibrant float parade led by students from the University of Papua New Guinea, making its way through various suburbs of the city.

The parade is a colorful display of culture and creativity, showcasing the rich heritage of Papua New Guinea.

Students from schools across the city have gathered in large numbers, dressed in their full uniforms, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the float.

Numerous stalls are also being set up around the stadium with traditional dancers from the Southern region who are currently rehearsing for their performances.

The month-long celebration of PNG Story aims to promote the arts and culture of Papua New Guinea.

A total of 40 stalls have been set up to showcase local small and medium enterprises from the Southern Region, offering a variety of arts, crafts, and delicious food for attendees to enjoy.

Attendees can look forward to live band performances from artists from the Southern Region in the likes of Junior Vigi, Deejays Band, Betty Toea among others.

NCD host Governor, Powes Parkop is expected to give his address this afternoon.
