Kairuku coast venture into cattle project

In a significant move towards sustainable development and economic development, the communities of Kaiau and Vanuamai in Nara consituancy in Kairuku, Central, have embarked on the Kairuku Coast Cattle Project.
A first ever landowners consultative meeting was held last weekend.
The meet aims to harness the distric's agricultural potential and uplift the livelihoods of the people of Nara and Kairuku.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Minister for Energy and Member for Kairuku Peter Isoaimo, Sid Pope, project consultant, representative from the Livestock Coopration, district administration and local chiefs and landowners.
The consultative meeting signifies the importance of community involvement in this project.

Minister Isoaimo emphasized the potential of turning the Agricultural potential in Kairuku District, stating; “this project when it takes off in 2026 will open many ecnomical opportunities and developments with the support from the National Government."
He urged village chiefs and landowners to embrace the cattle project for its sustainability and economical benefits.
Kairuku cattle project consultant Sid Pope said this project is huge and will impact peoples lives.
He added that this will generate revenue for the villages and trigger economic growth at the national level.
Mr Pope also encouraged locals to register their land and establish Incorporated Land Group's before the project commences.
The Kairuku Coast Cattle Project represents a strategic approach to revitalise the district's economy and promote self sustainability.
